To obtain the marriage certificate first you need register your marriage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.multimatrimony.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MIS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1930\" src=\"http:\/\/www.multimatrimony.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/MIS.jpg\" alt=\"MIS\" width=\"400\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following instructions and procedure will help you to register the Marriage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility for Marriage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Either Bridegroom or Bride can register their marriage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bridegroom\/Bride should have completed 21\/18 years respectively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration of Hindu Marriages Solemnized:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marriages solemnized under Hindu customs\/ non-customary<\/li>\n<li>Bridegroom\/Bride should have completed 21\/18 years respectively<\/li>\n<li>Proof of marriage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>v\u00a0 Anyone of the following place should fall within the jurisdiction of the Registering officer:<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Residence of bride.<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Residence of bridegroom.<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Solemnization place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration of Marriage under Tamilnadu Registration of marriage act:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marriages solemnized under any personal law can be registered.<\/li>\n<li>Bridegroom\/Bride should have completed 21\/18 years respectively<\/li>\n<li>It can be registered within 90 days without fine and within 90-150 days with fine. After that it can&#8217;t be registered.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of marriage<\/li>\n<li>The following place should fall within the jurisdiction of the Registering officer:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Solemnization place.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Granting of extracts of marriages registered under Indian Christian Marriages Act: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extracts of Indian Christian Marriages Registered under the Indian Christian Act, by the licensee under the act or by Priests are received and the extracts are given in the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>O\/o the Inspector General of Registration, 100, Santhome High Road, Chennai -28.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Information\u2019s for Marriage Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Particulars of Husband \/ Husband&#8217;s Father\/Mother and Wife \/ Wife&#8217;s Father\/Mother<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Full Name<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Religion<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Caste<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Date of Birth<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Age<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Marital Status before the date of marriage of Husband and wife<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Occupation<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Permanent Address<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Present Address<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Passport Number (If available)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Particulars of NRI of both Husband and wife (If any)<\/li>\n<li>Date of Marriage<\/li>\n<li>Place of Marriage<\/li>\n<li>Name and Address of the person who solemnized the Marriage. (If any)<\/li>\n<li>Place, namely the Village, Taluk and District where the marriage was solemnized, with full address.<\/li>\n<li>Particulars of 3 witness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure for Marriage Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reach you nearest registrar office submit the completed application form with required documents and fees.<\/li>\n<li>Both, husband and wife should be present before registrar (Prior appointment is needed) &#8211; Both have to sign the Register in front of the Registrar in the office.<\/li>\n<li>There should be at least 4 people with them to support their marriage and two of them sign for witness<\/li>\n<li>Original Marriage Invitation and at least one photo showing both in wedding dress with garlands, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: If you cannot find out the nearest registrar office, go to Ashok Nagar Registrar office (near pillar) to find out where is your nearby registrar office (for Gundy Area). Ashok Nagar Registrar office is the old shopping complex next to Udhayam Theater (near pillar).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Documents for Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marriage Proof<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Wedding Invitation (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Temple Marriage Receipts (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Any proof of marriage solemnization<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0\u00a0 Employee ID Card (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0\u00a0 Ration Card (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0\u00a0 Driving License (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0\u00a0 Passport or Visa<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Age<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Birth Certificate (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 School\/College Certificate (or)<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Passport \/ Visa<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the above memorandum in duplicate with 4 passport size photograph for bride and 4 passport size photograph for bridegroom should be submitted.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Witnesses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 Id card for minimum two witness to be produced<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fees for Marriage Registration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For the registration of a Marriage which will be exclusive of any other fees levied by devasthanam for marriages in temples: Rs.100.00<\/li>\n<li>For a certified copy of an entry in Hindu Marriage Register: Rs. 10.00<\/li>\n<li>For making a search<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 if the entry is of the current: Rs. 10.00<\/p>\n<p>\u00fc\u00a0 if the entry relates to any previous year or years (for each such year): Rs. 10.00<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For Registering a marriage at any place outside the office of the Marriage Registrar to be appropriated by the Marriage Registrar in addition to the fee in entry (i) above: Rs. 50.00<\/li>\n<li>Application fees for registering a marriage at any place outside the office of the marriage Registrar: Rs.200.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Validity of Marriage Certificate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marriage certificate shall be valid forever.<\/p>\n<p>Document to Use:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tnreginet.net\/pdf\/Public_Utility_Forms_full\/appln3.pdf\">FORM &#8211; I, Application for registration of Hindu Marriage under the Tamil Nadu Hindu Marriage (Registration) Rules, 1967.<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/cms.tn.gov.in\/sites\/default\/files\/forms\/Comp_Marriage_Forms_Eng_7_0.pdf\">Application for obtaining certified copy of marriage registration<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Processing Time:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will get your marriage certificate in 4 to 5 days.
